Sam Sharples
Chief Information Officer
Originally from Huntsville, AL, Sam moved to Birmingham in 2013 to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham for music technology and found a love for the people in this city. He began mentoring with Aspire in 2016. Through the Aspire Movement, God opened Sam’s eyes to the needs of Birmingham - needs that can only be met by Christ working through His church to love genuinely and sacrificially.
Sam is passionate about discipleship outside of formal Sunday morning church events, and loves when local churches radiate the Gospel through their members fellowshipping with one another and serving their communities. He sees the Aspire Movement as a catalyst for Christians to begin a lifestyle of active faith and love people as Jesus calls us to. He has hope to see Birmingham’s brokenness restored through life-on-life mentoring and intentional relationships.
Sam and his wife Adriana are members of Iron City Church where Sam serves as a deacon.
In his free time, Sam is likely writing music or playing board games with friends. His favorite Bible verse is Romans 5:8.
