Blakely Barley
Mentoring Director
Blakely grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. As a teacher her heart was drawn towards the at-risk youth realizing the need and potential they had, and also the love she had for them. She loves children and believes adults can learn just as much from kids as kids can learn from adults!
Blakely is passionate about reaching children from all backgrounds and showing them that they are loved and cherished by Jesus. She loves Birmingham and sees so much potential. She believes that Birmingham's history has been marked by much brokenness, but also knows that with the Gospel all things can be made new. She sees the importance and gift of relationships and believes the Bible gives us beautiful examples of how relationships can form in ways that we least expect and can truly make an impact for God's Kingdom. Blakely really believes in Aspire's vision and wants to work hard & seek wisdom from our Father to lead these children and adults towards long lasting relationships!
In Blakely's free time she enjoys a good cup of coffee, reading nonfiction books, spending time with family and friends, and being outside.
Her favorite verse is Isaiah 25:1. It is a constant reminder that our God is good & faithful and full of wonders from of old.
