Inspirational Experiences are common among suburban youth but many of our students in the inner city have "death of ambition". Because they see the world in a very narrow perspective we provide outlets for them to dream and aspire to new heights. These events include going to the Civil Rights Institute, Barons baseball games, bike riding at Oak Mountain State Park, Ice Cream Socials, Cookouts, Volunteer projects, and many other exciting things.
We also provide an opportunity for 15-20 students to go to Kids Across America in Branson, Missouri, a week long summer camp devoted to equipping next generation urban leaders. The camp is Christ centered and offers a wide array of fun activities as well as spiritual mentoring from counselors who are prepared and trained to work with urban youth. For most of our kids it is there first time leaving the city much less the state. The majority have come back with an enlarged worldview.
